In addition to a sea-worthy craft, all expedition boats must include a minimum of:
* Navigation equipment (compass, GPS, etc)
* Coastal charts (will be provided by the organisers)
* Drinking water (minimum for each crew member)
* Navigation Lights
* EPIRB
* Distress flares
* Marine frequency radio transmitter (VHF) with external aerial
* Anchor and cable
* Life-jackets (PFD's - Type 1)
* Fire extinguisher(s)
* First Aid Kit
Plus all safety equipment specified by Marine Safety Authorities for your particular vessel size. Note these requirements vary from State to State.

Compulsory equipment will be inspected at pre-start scrutineering.
